Performance Rules

The following Band Performance Rules apply to all bands performing at Metal Massacre XV: The Ides of Massacre. Compliance with these rules is mandatory.

1. Performance Schedule

  • Bands shall perform only during their assigned performance slot.

  • Performance times, including load-in, set length, and load-out, shall be strictly enforced.

  • Bands must be stage-ready at the designated time communicated by Metal Massacre representatives.

  • Failure to adhere to the assigned schedule may result in reduced set time or other corrective action at the discretion of event organizers.

2. Set Length and Transitions

  • Each band is allotted a thirty (30) minute performance set.

  • Bands shall not exceed the allotted 30-minute set length under any circumstances.

  • Stage changeovers shall be completed within the time limits set by Metal Massacre staff.

  • Sound checks shall be limited and conducted only as scheduled or directed by event staff.

  • Any time overruns may result in immediate termination of the performance.

3. Equipment and Gear
  • Bands are responsible for providing their own instruments and personal equipment unless otherwise specified.

  • Bands may not move, modify, or disconnect stage, lighting, or sound equipment without approval from Metal Massacre staff or sound engineers.

4. Sound and Technical Direction
  • Bands must comply with all instructions given by sound engineers, stage managers, and Metal Massacre representatives.

  • Final decisions regarding sound levels, mix, and stage volume rest solely with Sound Engineers.

  • Excessive volume or refusal to comply with technical direction may result in immediate corrective action, including termination of the performance.

5. Stage Conduct
  • Only authorized band members, crew, and Metal Massacre staff are permitted on stage during performances.

  • Bands shall maintain professional conduct on stage at all times.

  • Actions that create unsafe conditions, disrupt the event, or damage property are strictly prohibited.

6. Content and Behavior
  • Hate speech, threats of violence, or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Bands must comply with all local, state, and federal laws while performing.

  • Event organizers reserve the right to stop a performance if content or behavior violates event policies or safety standards.

7. Load-In and Load-Out
  • Bands must follow assigned load-in and load-out times.

  • Load-in and load-out areas must be kept clear and orderly.

  • Failure to comply with load-in/load-out procedures may affect current performance status and future participation eligibility.

8. Merchandising
  • Bands may sell merchandise only in designated areas approved by Metal Massacre.

  • Merchandise sales must comply with venue policies and event guidelines.

  • Bands are responsible for their own merchandise, staffing, and transactions unless otherwise specified.

9. Alcohol, Substances, and Safety
  • Bands must comply with all venue policies regarding alcohol and prohibited substances.

  • Illegal substances are strictly prohibited.

  • Bands and their representatives are expected to act responsibly and ensure the safety of themselves, other performers, staff, and attendees.

10. Parking and Equipment Load-In
  • Each band shall be issued a maximum of three (3) parking passes for the purpose of loading and unloading equipment.

  • Parking passes are issued only to the band representative and are the responsibility of the band representative to manage and distribute.

  • Each band will be assigned a specific time window during which equipment vehicles are permitted to enter through the gate and access the designated band parking area.

  • Bands must adhere strictly to their assigned vehicle entry and exit times.

  • Bands will be assigned to designated parking spaces within the band parking lot by Metal Massacre staff at the gate.

  • Equipment vehicles must be removed from the band parking area by the designated time communicated by Metal Massacre representatives.

  • Failure to comply with parking, load-in, or load-out procedures may result in loss of parking privileges, delayed access, or other corrective action at the discretion of event organizers.

11. Attire and Appearance Standards
  • All band members are required to remain adequately clothed at all times during performances.

  • Clothing must be worn in a manner that prevents exposure of buttocks or undergarments.

  • Genitals must be fully covered at all times.

  • Any attire or behavior resulting in indecent exposure is strictly prohibited.

  • Violations of attire standards may result in immediate corrective action, including termination of the performance.

12. Legal Compliance
  • Any violation of local, state, or federal laws by a band member, band representative, or associated personnel will result in immediate termination of the performance.

  • In such cases, local law enforcement will be contacted.

  • Metal Massacre reserves the right to remove the band and/or individuals from the event immediately.

  • Any legal consequences resulting from violations are the sole responsibility of the band and/or individuals involved.

13. Enforcement and Consequences
  • Failure to comply with these Band Performance Rules may result in, but is not limited to:

  • Reduction of set time

  • Immediate termination of the performance

  • Removal from the event

  • Disqualification from future Metal Massacre events

  • All enforcement decisions made by Metal Massacre organizers are final.
